A plethora of pretties!

Sometimes too many choices, no matter how lovely it sounds, only complicates things. I've been piling all the FW possibliities onto the guest bed and I just sorted them all out into projects. There are more projects than there are festival days. And more than one direction to take each project.

I have four ideas for Hubby's outfits, plus some from last year he could reuse. It's not really a matter of deciding as much as a matter of how much time I'll have to work on things. He likes dressing up but he takes half his outfit off within a few hours of arriving each day anyway, so I'm not stressing on it too much.

I've got two fae girl outfits to make, one for each granddaughter. Got plans in my head, just have to follow through.

Now it starts to get more complicated. Me. I have two ideas for the first two days that I'm set on. At least that's good. I've decided to be a chocolate faery for Good Faery Day. This was a new idea I stumbled on when I discovered that I had the right pile of skirt, shirt, and leggings to make it work. Plan in my head. All good. But then I found another skirt at the thrift shop that I could take the outfit a completely different direction and now I don't know which way I wanna go with it. And I had a vest, found two MORE vests. Sigh, why do I complicate things.

Second day I have an outfit planned out and just need to finish making embellishments and things. I'm having trouble finding something I need to make the wings but I either find it or I don't and I make it without. Not too complicated.

Third day I think I'm gonna be a scrappy faery. The idea has morphed several times over this last year and I now have a pile of lovely goodies to create this outfit.

BUT, I also have this really neat skirt that's like a tropical flower and it would be fun to be a tropical faery. And I have this beautiful rainbow colored twirl skirt that wouldn't be any kind of faery at all but still, would be fun to wear. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the scrappy idea, but haven't committed yet.

Course it's not really complicated - I just need to start on the projects I know I want to do and work towards the more iffy ones. And by then I'll probably have run out of time and I'll just do the easiest thing - LOL.

Just wanted to talk shop.

Watcha all up to in these last frenetic get-ready weeks?

Sitting in the middle of the living room with piles, blanket stiching leather fringe on pants & of course it ended up having to be done by hand.Finished the front of the coat still finding puffs of feather down from that, have the fur to finish sewing on it aswell as the bead work. This is for Mountain Lion.. Next year she gets to make her own stuff, I'm stuck as to what I want. Like you I gathered wonderful peices but have more than one can wear in 2 days. let alone make up my mind on. want to say thank you. you said it...

    weeeeeeeeeeeellllll

My sewing room is packed to the gills with all sorts of kinds and colors of organza and chiffon. Ive used my tigerlily costume for 2 FW events and if I need to use it again, I have no problem doing so but Im really attracted to the idea of making a new costume this year for my Monarch idea. I bought this wonderful orange stretch jersey fabric stuff and some crinkle iridescent yellow organza that I'm pretty sure I can rustle up into an awesome layered fairy thing.

I just finished with a brown linen pirate vest for Hawk with the coolest little buttons I think Ive ever found ever.

There's a stack of black swirley velvet and matching silver lining material on the floor waiting to be turned into a night time cape for the evenings and another stack of burgundy suede and black lining material for a pirate type jacket.

Then.... theres a little bit of leather for a top Im hoping to whip up real quick-like for Lyra and an idea I have regarding some braided belts if I can just manage it... and some other cool fabrics for some pants for Jeremy if I can swing it.

finally, there are a few bolts of gauze cotton awaiting instructions from mermie.

So much to do... so fun!
